Jessica Topliss

Teased and harassed in high school for her name and early development, Jessica vowed to be more than just a plaything or an object of fun, so she studied hard and graduated from the Academy in psychology. After serving as counsellor on several ships she became a Staff Psychologist at Starfleet Command conducting assessments on serving captains. When one captain criticised her for not understanding the burden of command, she decided to take the intermediate command course and serve one tour of duty as a command officer for the experience. She had intended to return to her psychology role after serving a year on the USS Penthesilea, but she kept on deferring. When she was offered the role of First Officer she made the transfer to command permanent, and after three years was given a command of her own, captaining the Saber Class USS Hornet.
